[origin: EP0098580A2] An improvement to a continuous solvent extraction-steam distillation process for the recovery of aromatic hydrocarbons in the range of C6-C16 from a feed stream containing such aromatics and aliphatic hydrocarbons in the range of C5-C16 which resides in utilizing one heat exchanger wherein the vapor sidedraw products are compressed and the heat of condensation of the vapor sidedraw products are utilized to vaporize stripping water thus producing stripping steam thereby reducing the heat load of the process.
