[origin: EP0098986A2] The invention relates to a padlock for chains, that is a padlock to which one end link of a chain is permanently fastened, while the other end can be connected or disconnected at will to a shackle which is mounted axially slidable on the padlock body, and the axial movement of which is controlled by a safety lock. The padlock comprises a U-shaped body which is vested by a steel jacket of a matching shape and presenting limbs projecting from the padlock body so as to afford the possibility of anchoring thereto in a permanent manner one of the end links of the chain by means of a pin riveted to the said limbs, and onto which pin the chain link is inserted.
