[origin: US4543552A] A voltage dropping transformer for an electric welding machine, of the type in which the secondary circuit is formed by a wound strip, is provided wherein one or more cooling turns are incorporated or inserted in the windings of the primary and/or secondary circuits, separating them into several parts while being in thermal contact therewith. The turns are electrically inactive-having solely a cooling role-and do not form part of the electric circuits of the windings.

Transformateur, notamment abaisseur de tension pour machine à souder électrique, du type dont le circuit secondaire est constitué d'une bande enroulée, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une ou plusieurs spires refroidissantes (7) incorporées ou intercalées dans les enroulements des circuits primaire (4a, 4b, 4c) et/ou secondaire (6) et les séparant en plusieurs parties en étant en contact thermique avec celles-ci, cette ou ces spires (7) étant électriquement inactives, -ayant uniquement un rôle de refroidissement- et ne faisant pas partie des circuits électriques desdits enroulements.
