1. Side loading fork lift truck having a frame (1) which is U-shaped in plan view and between whose arms (17, 18) there is a lifting mast (9) which can be extended transversely on a carriage and having running gear comprising a steering axle (4) and a driving axle (5) which are constructed as self-aligning axles and which are in each case provided, on both sides of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, with vertical supports (6, 7; 21, 22) in respect of the frame, of which, on the steering axis and the driving axis, in each case at least one is a double-acting hydraulic ram (6, 7), characterised in that the hydraulic rams (6, 7) are as a function of the load condition and for varying the overall supporting of the frame (1) on the steering axle (4) and the driving axle (5) are so reversible that for idling and for journeys with minimal loading, the supports located on that side of the vehicle which is remote from the extending side of the carriage are the self-aligning bearings (21, 22), of which the ram (6) associated with the steering axle (4) is rendered ineffectual while the ram (7) associated with the driving axle (5) is locked and in that for journeys under heavier loading and under full loading the rams (6, 7) are connected in parallel.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Quergabelstapler, der einen quer zur Fahrtrichtung mittels eines Schlitten ausfahrbaren Hubmast aufweist. Das Fahrwerk für den Quergabelstapler ist mit mehreren hydraulischen Pressen versehen, die so geschaltet werden können, daß die Art der Abstützung des Rahmens auf dem Fahrwerk und damit auch die Art der Abstützung auf der Fahrbahn abhängig von dem Beladungszustand verandert werden kann, so daß sowohl bei Fahrt mit Vollast als auch bei Leerfahrt möglichst gleichmäßig auf die Treib-achse verteilte Raddrücke gegeben sind.
