Combinations of metal surfaces can be protected from corrosion by use of a composition comprising salts (generally alkali salts) of C6-10 aliphatic carboxylic acid, C6-8 polyhydroxycarboxylic acid and aromatic monocarboxylic acid.

Die wäßrige Behandlungsflüssigkeit zum Korrosionsschutz von Metalloberflächen weist einen Gehalt an Salzen einer oder mehrerer aliphatischer Carbonsäuren mit 6 bis 10 C-Atomen (Komponente a), Salzen einer oder mehrerer Polyoxycarbonsäuren mit 6 bis 8 C-Atomen (Komponente b) sowie einen zusätzlichen Gehalt an Salz einer oder mehrerer aromatischer Monocarbonsäuren (Komponente c) auf, wobei die salzbildenden Kationen überwiegend Alkaliionen sind. Zweckmäßigerweise liegen die Salze in einem molaren Verhältnis von Komponente a) zu Komponente b) wie 10:1 bis 1:5, Komponente a) zu Komponente c) wie 5:1 bis 1:5 und Komponente b) zu Komponente c) wie 5:1 bis 1:10. vor. Die bevorzugten Bestandteile sind für Komponente a) Salz von Caprylsäure und/oder Äthylhexansäure, für Komponente b) Salz von Gluconsäure und/oder Heptonsäure und für Komponente c) Salz von Benzoesäure.
