[origin: US4523915A] A coupling device for coupling a loom shaft to the shaft of a weft selecting device in a weaving loom, the device comprising two opposed discs having mutually engaging teeth which automatically respond to reversal in direction of rotation of the loom shaft to introduce a desired phase shift between the loom shaft and the weft shaft, the coupling device having automatic means for locking the disc teeth after each reversal in direction of the loom to maintain the newly phase-shifted mutual orientation of the discs.

Les dents latérales (7a, 7b) solidaires d'un engrenage fou sur l'arbre (4) entraînent celles (9a, 9b) du disque (2) calé sur cet arbre (4) en étant verrouillées à l'encontre de tout recul relatif intempestif par une entaille (12a) prévue en bout d'un levier basculant (11) articulé en (10) sur le disque et sollicité dans un sens ou dans l'autre par un système d'encliquetage à ressort (16) à deux empreintes (20) Quand le sens de rotation s'inverse, le cliquet saillant (23b), arrêté contre la butée (25b), rencontre le goujon fixe (26), ce qui oblige (11) à basculer en libérant (7a) qui tourne alors indépendamment de l'ensemble (2-4) jusqu'à venir buter contre (9b) et à s'encliqueter dans l'autre entaille (12b). L'entraînement est ainsi assuré avec le déphasage nécessaire à la marche en arrière de la mécanique. Quand on reprend la marche en avant, tout fonctionne en sens inverse et l'on revient donc à la position initiale.
