Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0100259A1] The connector consists of a tube ending in a conical female pipe socket (1) contg. n helical grooves, e.g. four grooves. A second tube ends in a male spigot (2) contg. n complementary grooves, e.g. four grooves. In a radial view, each groove summit is displaced radially w.r.t. the adjacent grooves by a dimension (a) which is at least equal to the fraction 1/n of the variation (VR) of the radius of one step of the helix on the conical surface contg. the grooves. In one pref. design, a connector tube ends in two male conical screw threads, and is used to join two pipes which each have a female socket contg. a conical screw thread. The connector may also be used on anchoring piles.
