[origin: US4523628A] A process for casting metals comprising simultaneously applying a stationary magnetic field and a variable magnetic field to the molten metal in the course of solidification. The magnetic fields act in the same direction and generate radial vibrations in the metal, causing the cast metal to have an improved homogeneous structure and surface condition.
