Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0101031A2] The arrangement exhibits at least three loudspeakers (1) and each of the loudspeakers is connected to a rigid wall (2) exhibiting one closed surface each, in such a manner that the diaphragm (3) of the loudspeaker (1) closes off one end of the air column (4) delimited by the surface whereas the other end of the air columns is in communication with the external air space. The longitudinal dimensions of the surfaces are selected in such a manner that the shortest connecting path extending through the air between the front and the rear of the respective diaphragm (3) is no shorter than one third of the wavelength of the sound wave of the lowest frequency to be radiated, the length of the air columns (4) differing from one another and from the half and quarter wavelength of self resonance of the connected loudspeakers and the inputs (5, 6) of the loudspeakers (1) being connected to a low-impedance generator (7). <IMAGE>
