In the sleeping position, the bed-head frame (12) can be raised into several positions determined by a rack (42), converting the bed into a rest chair. The front face, joined by links (33) articulated to the sitting frame and to the chassis by means of hinges (35) (36) is interdependent, during folding and unfolding, with the mechanism. <IMAGE>
