1. Process for the preparation of 2, 4, 5, 6-tetrachloropyrimidine, characterized in that phosphorus trichloride and chlorine are metered simultaneously, in the presence of small amounts of a tertiary amine and at the boiling point of the mixture, into a mixture containing 5,5-dichlorobarbituric acid and phosphorus oxychloride, and the resulting tetrachloropyrimidine is separated off when the reaction is complete.

Es wird ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung von 2,4,5,6-Tetrachlorpyrimidin (TCP) bereitgestellt. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man in eine 5,5-Dichlorbarbitursäure und Phosphoroxychlorid enthaltende Mischung, Phosphartrichlorid und Chlor in Gegenwart geringer Mengen eines tertiären Amins bei 90 bis 107°C simultan eindosiert und das entstehende Tetrachlorpyrimidin nach erfolgter Umsetzung abtrennt.
