Abstract (en)
[origin: US4464289A] Super-alkalinized lubricating oil additives and a method of making them are disclosed. A magnesium alkylbenzenesulfonate and a sulfurized alkylphenol are carbonated in the presence of an oil, magnesium oxide, a glycol, and an amine. The resulting medium is neutralized and super-alkalinized with lime, and the glycol and sediment are removed.
