[origin: WO8303022A1] A piano in which a soundboard (30) connected to the strings (12) by a bridge (20) is constructed in the manner similar to the vibratable member of a loudspeaker. The piano may have separate soundboards for different frequency ranges. The soundboard may by connected to coils (70), (72) to act either as drives or as pick-ups. In this way background music may be played back through the piano or harmonics may be added by a processing circuit to vary the tone of the piano or achieve special effects.

Pianos dans lesquels une table d'harmonie (30) reliée aux cordes (12) par un pont (20) est construite de manière analogue aux organes vibrants d'un haut-parleur. Le piano peut avoir des tables d'harmonie séparées pour des gammes de fréquence différentes. La table d'harmonie peut être reliée aux bobines (70, 72) pour fonctionner soit comme dispositif d'entraînement, soit comme phonocapteur. On peut ainsi reproduire de la musique de fond par l'intermédiaire du piano ou ajouter des harmoniques au moyen d'un circuit de traitement pour modifier la tonalité du piano ou obtenir des effets spéciaux.
