[origin: EP0103271A2] An operating lever for internal-combustion engine gas valves has a valve-play adjustment device on its lever end (5) on the valve-stem side, which adjusting device consists of a screw bolt (10), penetrating the lever end (5) transversely with respect to the plane in which the lever rocks, having a nut (11) and an adjusting element which can be firmly clamped (annular disc 6). The screw bolt (10), the adjusting element (annular disc 6) and the lever end (5) are guided and supported on opposite sides such that when the screw bolt (10) is rotated, a relative movement takes place between the adjusting element (annular disc 6) and the lever end (5), which movement takes place essentially in the axial direction of the valve stem end (9). <IMAGE>
