Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0103791A2] In a coding method for an electronic key, especially for motor vehicles with an installed central locking system, a transmitter (1) with a following amplifier (3) emits a coded infrared signal (5) via a photodiode (4). This signal (5) is delivered by means of a phototransistor (6) via an amplifier (7) to a receiver (2), at the output (8) of which there is a signal (9) for controlling the central locking. By means of a random generator arranged either in the transmitter (1) or in the receiver (2), a random bit pattern is selected from the selection of code possibilities and transferred to the transmitter (1) and receiver (2), preferably by positive synchronisation. <IMAGE>
