1. Means for joining two material webs (1, 2) of coated resilient plastics for the production of clothes for water sports, such as surfing suits, sailing suits or the like, the material webs (1, 2) lying one upon the other and being connected at their adjacent marginal zones (3) by means of a seam, characterised in that a serged seam (4) is arranged as a nearly water-tight connection, the tension of the thread being chosen such that a contraction (7) of the marginal zones (3), i.e. a decrease in the thickness of the material webs lying upon one another, is achieved, and that the surfaces of the material webs (1, 2) lying upon one another are the outer side of the clothes when being in the position for use, the contraction (7) formed by means of the serged seam (4) forming as a bent off marginal zone (3) a bead at the inner side of the clothes.
Abstract (de)
Bei der Herstellung von Schutzbekleidung für den Wassersport aus beschichtetem elastischem Kunststoff ist vorgesehen, daß durch die Verwendung einer Überwendlingsnaht (4) eine nahezu wasserdichte Verbindung zwischen zwei Materialbahnen (1, 2) geschaffen wird. Hierzu ist vorgesehen, die Materialbahnen (1, 2) mit den im fertigen Zustand außenliegenden Flächen aufeinanderliegend in ihren Randzonen (3) durch eine Überwendlingsnaht (4) zu verbinden. Die Fadenspannung muß dabei so eingestellt sein, daß es bei der Herstellung der Überwendlingsnaht (4) zur Einschnürung der Randzonen (3) kommt.
