Instrument for applying an adhesive tape in which the reel is enclosed in a case in which it may rotate freely, provided with an outlet slit (2) for said tape and a cutting member, such as a blade, (6), fixed with respect to the case and situated at the end of an arm (3) integral with said case and said arm has two lateral tongues (13) whose free ends form therebetween a space less than the width of the adhesive tape which is held by these latter in the vicinity of said arm (3) after the tape has been cut, characterized in that said tongues (13) are slanted with respect to each other so that each forms an acute angle with respect to the face of the arm situated on the same side as the slit (2) and thus to guide the tape during application thereof.
