Improved self-locking sling of the type comprising two main parts, namely, on the one hand, a lower part of four-lobe shape (1), and on the other hand, an upper part in the form of a double loop (2) formed by two parallel strap portions (6, 7) and two crossed strap portions (8, 9), characterised in that the parallel strap portions (6, 7) of the second part or upper part (2) are, at least at the centre of their length, interconnected by a transverse strap (10) fixed at its ends by sewing to the said parallel strap portions (6, 7). <IMAGE>
