Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0106745A2] The protective layer is formed from a large number of sheet-pile cells (10) placed side by side and each consisting of a flexible basket-shaped casing (11) filled with stones. According to the invention, prefabricated polygonal protective-layer elements (1), each consisting of an assembly of sheet-pile cells (10, 12, 13, 14) connected to one another and filled with stones, are produced, each element being equipped with a plurality of anchoring members (14) distributed uniformly over its entire surface. Then, the prefabricated element (1) is attached to a beam (4) equipped with a plurality of fastening members (8) capable of engaging on these during the descent of the beam (4), this being suspended for the purpose on at least one winch (24) mounted on a carriage (23) movable along a raised launching platform (2) extending above the prefabrication area (A) on one side and projecting above the water on the other side. The prefabricated element (1) fastened to the beam (4) is then hoisted by means of the winch (24) and is subsequently brought above the water by the displacement of the carriage (23) on the platform (2). The assembly consisting of the beam (4) and of the prefabricated element (1) is deposited on a barge (26) placed underneath the projection of the platform, and the barge (26) thus loaded is then displaced in order to bring it underneath a laying apparatus comprising at least one winch (56) mounted in a raised fashion on a pontoon (5) equipped with means (53) for positioning relative to the floor and arranged substantially in line with the laying location. The winch (56) of the laying apparatus (50) is attached to the beam (4), the prefabricated element (1) is hoisted in order to remove the barge (26), it is then lowered to a short distance from the floor, the positioning of the pontoon (5) is then checked, and finally the simultaneous detachment of all the fastening members from the beam is effected, the prefabricated element thereby being laid in one piece at the desired location. The invention is used for protection against erosion of the floor of a river or of a bank.
