A detector mat in which a thin, sheet-like dielectric (2) is provided as a base body which, on each of its two flat faces, is allotted at least one electrode (4, 5; 10), which electrodes are at least partially movables relative to one another under a pressure loading, where the change in capacitance of the detector mat which is produced as a result of a change in the spacing between the electrodes serves to produce an output signal, characterised in that on at least one of the flat faces, there are provided a plurality of strip electrodes (4, 5) which are arranged one beside another and between which are arranged elastic spacers (6 to 8) (Fig. 1).
