[origin: WO8301976A1] A transom member (10) for a movable door, such as a sliding door, and having an elongate support member (12). A plastics cover member (30) formed of non-transparent material is positioned on the support member in such a fashion as to extend lengthwise therealong, at least over a part of the length of the transom member. The cover member (30) and support member (12) are arranged so as to define therebetween a cavity which houses a sensing device (20) which in use operates to detect approach of a person towards the transom member to automatically actuate a door such as by causing a sliding door panel (108) to be moved along a track (112).
