A slotted doctor blade with an outflow slot (26) is designed such that one or more pressure-measuring points (41) are arranged at the outflow slot. These are connected to pressure-measuring devices which indicate the value so that the quantity of foam supplied, for example a dye liquor, is then varied manually or automatically via a throttle or a foam-liquor quantity controller. The quantity supplied is regulated in relation to the coating cross-section by the pressure detection and the adjustment of the flow in the associated feed pipe (22). Preferably, the measuring instruments work via a comparator arrangement (42) which acts in turn via a throttle located in a feed line or a foam-liquor quantity controller or on a pump or directly on the foam generator. Preferably, the outflow slot will be sensed at various points over its entire length, and more or less foam liquor will be conveyed into the corresponding region via the foam feed line assigned to this region. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Auftragen eines verschäumten Auftragsmediums wird eine Schlitzrakel mit Austrittsschlitz (26) derart ausgebildet, daß am Austrittsschlitz ein oder mehrere Druckmeßstellen (41) angeordnet sind. Diese Druckmeßstellen werden mit Druckmeßvorrichtungen verbunden, die den Wert entweder anzeigen, so daß dann manuell oder automatisch über eine Drossel oder einen Schaumflottenmengenregler die Menge des zugeführten Schaumes, beispielsweise einer Farbflotte, verändert wird. Durch das Druckabnehmen und die Einstellung des Zuflusses in dem zugeordneten Zuführungsrohr (22) wird die zugeführte Menge zum Auftragsquerschnitt geregelt. Vorzugsweise arbeiten die Meßgeräte über eine Vergleichsanordnung (42), die wiederum über eine in einer Zuführungsleitung liegende Drossel, einen Schaumflottenmengenregler oder auf eine Pumpe oder direkt auf den Schaumgenerator wirkt. Vorzugsweise soll der Austrittsschlitz über seine gesamte Länge an verschiedenen Stellen abgetastet werden und über die diesem Bereich zugeordnete Schaumzuführungsleitung wird mehr oder weniger Schaumflotte in den entsprechenden Bereich gefördert.
