Arrangement for connecting metal tubes of a heat exchanger with a tube plate of a water tank, the tube plate consisting of synthetic plastics material and being an integral component part of the water tank, characterised in that the tubes (8, 18) are fixed in the water tank (1) by being axially pressed into apertures (6) in the tube plate (2) and sealed, the apertures (6) having one or a plurality of peripherally extending grooves (19) and in that prior to the tubes (8, 18) being pressed into position, at least a part of the apertures has a smaller diameter than the outside diameter of the tubes, a strong press-fit being created by the tube ends (7) being pressed axially into the apertures (6).
