Es wird ein Flächenheizelement beschrieben. Dieses weist einen positiven Temperaturkoeffizienten und mehrere in Abstand voneinander angeordneten Stromversorgungsleitungen (11) auf. Die Stromversorgungsleitungen (11) sind durch Kontaktbahnen (12) gebildet und mit einer flächigen Tragvorrichtung wirkverbunden. Die Kontaktbahnen (12) sowie die Tragvorrichtung sind mit einem elektrisch leitenden Kunststoff mit positivem Temperaturkoeffizienten des elektrischen Widerstandes versehen. Die Flächenheizelemente werden bevorzugt für Verbände oder Heizdecken verwendet.
