Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0110753A2] 1. Electrostatic spray-gun of the type operating with solid particles of powdered paint conveyed towards a dispersion nozzle (10) via a duct (9) in which these particles are electrically charged by electrodes (8) fed by means of a voltage multiplication circuit (7), a transformer (3) and an oscillator circuit (4), the spray-gun additionally being provided with means for the connection of the oscillator circuit (4) to an outside power supply and with means (6) for the connection of the said duct (9) to an outside devise for particle feed, the spray-gun being subdivided into two parts (1, 2) which are joined in movable manner and of which a first (1) comprises the oscillator circuit (4), the transformer (3), the means of connecting the oscillator circuit (4) to the outside power supply and the means (6) of connecting the duct (9) to the outside device for particle feed, and has a grip (11) for handling the spray-gun manually, and of which the second (2) comprises the nozzle (10), the electrodes (8) and the voltage multiplication circuit (7), characterized in that it comprises for the first part (1) of the spray-gun a second embodiment which has an attaching base (12) for the automatic operation of the spray-gun in a fixed position and which comprises the same elements as the grip for manual handling, and in that the two parts (1, 2) comprise additional means of mechanical attachment (15) and of axial connection (14, 16), which are the same for the two embodiments of the first part (1), for assembling the first part (1), according to one or the other embodiment in interchangeable manner, and the same second part (2) and for attaching the transformer (3) of the first part (1) to the voltage multiplication circuit (7) of the second part (2) when the two parts (1 and 2) are assembled.
