[origin: WO8304234A1] The rescue apparatus comprises, in a casing (1), a foldable floating body (11) as well as a compressed gas bottle (4) to automatically inflate the floating body on the water. The inflation is set off as soon as the disc-shaped stop elements (21) arranged vertically soften in the water, bend and, under the action of a spring (15) arranged under the compressed gas bottle (4), do not prevent any more the consecutive actuation of a valve. In order to actuate the valve of the gas bottle, the spring (15) can expand completely only when a locking element (31) extending in a setting device (14) subjected to the action of the spring (15) is removed. The locking element (31) is secured to a support (40) wherein the casing (1) is retained. By removing the casing (1) from the support (40), the setting device (15) is automatically unlocked so that the rescue apparatus is ready for the automatic inflation of the floating body when the water reaches the stop elements (21). Those element may also be distroyed by means of a string by pulling that string so that the floating body (11) may be immediately inflated by the compressed gas bottle (4). Thereby, a person may, in case of need, wear the floating body before jumping in the water. The floating body is shaped as a U collar and surrounds only the neck of the user.

L'appareil de sauvetage comporte dans un boîtier (1) un corps flottant (11) pliable ainsi qu'une bouteille de gaz comprimé (4) pour gonfler automatiquement le corps flottant dans l'eau. Le gonflage est déclenché dès que des éléments de butée (21) en forme de disque, disposés verticalement se ramollissent dans l'eau, fléchissent et, sous l'action d'un ressort (15) placé sous la bouteille de gaz comprimé (4), n'empêchent ainsi plus l'actionnement consécutif d'une soupape. Afin d'actionner la soupape de la bouteille de gaz le ressort (15) ne peut se détendre complètement que lorsque un élément de verrouillage (31) s'étendant dans un dispositif d'armage (14) soumit à l'action du ressort (15) est retiré. L'élément de verrouillage (31) est fixé à un support (40) dans lequel le boîtier (1) est retenu. En retirant le boîtier (1) du support (40) le dispositif d'armage (14) est déverrouillé automatiquement si bien que l'appareil de sauvetage est prêt pour le gonflage automatique du corps flottant lorsque l'eau parvient aux éléments de butée (21). Ces éléments peuvent également être détruits à l'aide d'une ficelle en tirant sur cette ficelle de façon que le corps flottant (11) puisse être immédiatement gonflé par la bouteille de gaz comprimé (4). De cette manière, une personne peut en cas de nécessité porter le corps flottant avant de se jeter à l'eau. Le corps flottant présente la forme d'un collet en U et entoure seulement le cou de la personne.
