[origin: WO8401695A1] The cigarette lighter is arranged at the closed end (A") of the packet (A) which is opposite to the free end (A"") provided to take the cigarettes (B) out of the packet (A). It is provided with an electric battery (C) and with two contacts (D, E) which are respectively connected to the + pole and to the - pole of the battery (C). Each cigarette is provided at one end with a portion (f) which can be lit up by incandescence, said portion being urged against contacts (D, E) which are energized by the battery and heat the cigarette portion to a temperature sufficient to light it up. In order to provide for the lighting of the cigarettes (B) as they are removed from the packet (A), the cigarettes are so arranged in the packet (A) that their ends (F) which can be lit up by incandescence are close to the closed end (A") of the packet. The contact (D) extends from the closed end (A") to the open end (A"") of the packet so that the incandescent portion (F) of each cigarette slides along said contact (D) when it is taken out of the packet (A). The other contact (E) remains in permanent contact with the incandescent portion (F) of each cigarette (B) until it has been sufficiently removed from the packet (A).

Die Glühzündeinrichtung ist an dem geschlossenen Ende (A') der Zigarettenpackung (A), welches dem Packungsende (A") zum Herausziehen der Zigaretten (B) aus der Packung (A) gegenüberliegt, angeordnet und weist eine elektrische Batterie (C) sowie zwei elektrisch leitende Kontakte (D, E) auf, welche jeweils an den +Pol bzw. an den -Pol der Batterie (C) angeschlossen sind. Die Zigaretten (B) sind jeweils an einem End mit einem Glühteil (F) versehen, welches mit den Kontakten (D, E) in Berührung bringbar und durch den dann von der Batterie (C) gelieferten Strom auf eine zum Anzünden der jeweiligen Zigarette (B) ausreichende Temperatur aufheizbar ist. Zum Anzünden der Zigaretten (B) beim Herausziehen aus der Packung (A) sind sie derart in der Packung (A) angeordnet, daß die jeweils mit einem Glühteil (F) versehenen Enden sich an dem geschlossenen Packungsende (A') befinden. Weiterhin erstreckt sich der eine Kontakt (D) innerhalb der Packung (A) von dem geschlossenen Packungsende (A') weg auf das Packungsende (A") zum Herausziehen der Zigaretten (B) aus der Packung (A) zu, so daß jede Zigarette (B) beim Herausziehen aus der Packung (A) mit dem Glühteil (F) an diesem Kontakt (D) entlanggleitet. Der andere Kontakt (E) erstreckt sich innerhalb der Packung (A) zum Glühteil (F) jeder darin befindlichen Zigarette (B) und ist mit demselben elektrisch leitend verbunden, bis die jeweilige Zigarette (B) um eine vorgegebene Strecke aus der Packung (A) herausgezogen worden ist.
