[origin: ES8505098A1] In weapons in the nature of a Gatling gun the danger exists with an ignition delay or hangfire that the cartridge still is ignited after the positively reciprocated breechblock has been unlocked. However, cartridge ignition is undesired after unlocking of the breechblock. Therefore, an apparatus is present with the invention preventing unlocking of the breechblock in case of an ignition delay. Such safety apparatus may respond to (a) the gas pressure, (b) the weapon recoil, (c) the forward advance of the weapon or (d) to an expansion or bulge formed in a cartridge case, and acts to separate a breechblock head from a breechblock carrier, the breechblock head remaining in its locked position. The apparatus comprises either an inertia mass displaced relative to the breechblock due to the recoil action or a cam plate mounted at the weapon cradle and responding to the forward advance of the weapon, or a feeler pin responsive to an expansion or bulge formed in the cartridge case. The apparatus may cause a deflection of a cam follower roll from a first control cam into a second control cam, whereby the breechblock remains in its locked position.

Bei Geschützen von der Art einer Gatling-Kanone besteht die Gefahr, dass bei einer Zündverzögerung die Patrone (18) noch nach der Entriegelung des zwangsläufig vor- und zurückbewegten Verschlusses (19) gezündet wird. Eine Zündung der Patrone (18) nach der Entriegelung des Verschlusses (19) ist unerwünscht. Erfindungsgemäss ist daher eine Vorrichtung vorhanden, welche bei Zündverzögerung eine Entriegelung des Verschlusses (19) verhindert. Diese Vorrichtung kann a) auf den Gasdruck b) auf den Rücklauf der Waffe c) auf den Vorlauf der Waffe d) auf eine Aufweitung (Ausbuchtung) einer Patronenhülse ansprechen und bewirkt eine Trennung eines Verschlusskopfes (20) von einem Verschlussträger (21), wobei der Verschlusskopf (20) in seiner verriegelten Stellung bleibt. Die Vorrichtung weist entweder eine Trägheitsmasse (33) auf die sich durch den Rückstoss relative zum Verschluss (19) verschiebt, oder eine Nockenscheibe (16) an der Wiege (15) der Waffe, die beim Vorlauf der Waffe anspricht, oder einen Taststift (45), der auf eine Ausbuchtung einer Patronenhülse (48) anspricht. Sie kann die Umlenkung einer Kurvenrolle (123) aus einer ersten Steuerkurve (124) in eine zweite Steuerkurve (125) bewirken, wodurch der Verschluss (124) in seiner verriegelten Stellung bleibt.
