Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0111432A1] 1. A device for the automatic storage of flat objects, comprising a reference surface, called "floor" (7) of a magazine, between a stationary stacker (1) at one end and a stationary unstacker (10) at the other end, intercalary means (5, 6) with intercalary fingers (13, 14) for retaining objects on edge and in stacks on the floor (7), and drive means (9) coupled to said intercalary means so that said fingers (13, 14) define storing and transfer compartments (8) for transferring stacked objects to the unstacker (10), characterized in that in view of ensuring the transfer of objects from the stacker (1) to the unstacker without interruption of the operation of stacker and unstacker and of creating a dynamic storage upstream of the unstacker (10), an even number of said intercalary means (5, 6) is provided, which are combined in pairs, the means in each pair being defined as rear (5) and front intercalary means (6) attributed to two successive compartments and comprising particular retractable locking means (12) ensuring their selective coupling with said drive means (9), in order to present, at the end of each formed stack, the rear and front intercalary means (5, 6) of one pair in front of the stacker (1), then to separate the means of this pair and to convey only the formed stack towards the unstacker (10) against the compartments (8) of previously formed stacks which are waiting for storage.
