Wooden beam for building construction constituted, in a way known per se, by two longlimbed members made of wood (1, 2) maintained at distance from each other by two distance pieces (3, 4), a part of which at least is provided with a traversing recess (5) situated perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the wooden beam and intended to constitute an element of a service sheath, characterized by the fact that two members of wood (1, 2) which constitute the beam are of different thickness, the thickest member (1) being intended to be situated at the outside of the dihedral constituted by two stackings of crossed wooden beams, the said thickest member (1) extending beyond, at least at one of the ends of the wooden beam, the second member (2), the protruding portion being provided with notches (11, 12) permitting the crossing of the wooden beams during their assembling.
