Clearing plate for a shearer drum principally designed in the shape of a circular arc and attached, in a detachable way, to the clearing plate holder (9) designed to swivel around the axis of the shearer drum (5), characterized in that it consists, partially or wholly, of a non-sparking material such as a nonferrous metal, plastic or similar material with its inner side coated with this material, in that a part on the opposite side of the coal cutting machine (1) is attached to the remaining part in an exchangeable way and in that it is equipped with a proximity switch (12) triggering a signal and/or putting the drive of the shearer drum (5) out of circuit.
