Arrangement for automatically cleaning of windows on which an external coating of dirt, water, snow or the like may occur, particularly of windows adapted for the penetration of a measuring radiation, characterized in that a transmitter (13) is provided for emitting light on the surface of the window to be cleaned, that a receiver (15, 16) is provided for receiving the light reflected from the external coating on the window (3), and that their is a unit adapted to compare the measuring value for the reflected light supplied from the receiver (15, 16) with a preset value and to deliver a signal when the preset value is exceeded which signal starts the cleaning device (18) for the window.
