The device comprises a vertically mounted electric motor (5). Arranged on the vertically downwardly directed axle (12) of said electric motor is at least one friction wheel (10) to which at least one sparking block (9) is applied permanently or intermittently, the sparking block(s) (9) being arranged so as to be replaceable in at least one sparking block holder (4) which is connected in a swinging manner relative to the friction wheel (10), the oscillation frequency being adjustable by means of weight or spring pressure and preferably two sparking block holders (4) being provided which apply diametrically opposed sparking blocks (9) to the friction wheel (10) or the friction wheels in the manner of a pair of tongs. Rotation bodies with faceted reflecting surfaces below and/or above the friction wheel (10) and faceted reflecting surfaces on the oscillating sparking block holders (4) visually reinforce the effect of the shower of sparks. <IMAGE>

Die Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung eines Funkensprühregens besteht aus einem vertikal gehalterten Elektromotor (5), auf dessen vertikal nach unten gerichteter Achse (12) mindestens ein Reibrad (10) angeordnet ist, das von mindestens einem Zündstein (9] dauernd oder intermittierend beaufschlagt ist, wobei der oder die Zündsteine (9) auswechselbar in mindestens einem Zündsteinhalter (4) angeordnet sind, die in bezug auf das Reibrad (10) pendelnd angelenkt sind, wobei die Schwingfrequenz mit Gewicht- oder Federdruck einstellbar ist und vorzugsweise zwei zangenartig das Reibrad (10) oder die Reibräder mit diametral aufeinanderzu gerichteten Zündsteinen (9) beaufschlagende Zündsteinhalter (4) vorgesehen sind Rotationskörper mit facettenförmigen Spiegelflächen unter- und/oder oberhalb des Reibrades (10) sowie facettenförmige Spiegelflächen an den schwingenden Zündsteinhaltern (4) verstarken optisch den Funkensprühregeneffejkt.
