[origin: WO8302582A1] A wrench with a hook-shaped top jaw (1) is provided with a bottom jaw (2) adjustable to the top jaw and on a slide (3) glidably mounted on a guide portion (4) of the top jaw (1). Setting means (6) enable the slide to be at least blockable against movement in one direction along the guide portion. The bottom jaw (2) is actuable with the aid of a toggle mechanism having its loose link coupled to the bottom jaw and its other link formed as the shorter arm of a lever, with its fulcrum in the slide and its free arm forming a pivotable shank (14), said shank being formed with a passage (16) for a portion (17) of the guide portion (4) and/or some part (6, 18) connecting to the guide portion so that the pivotable shank can be swung past said portion or parts sufficiently far out in both directions from its intermediate position, corresponding to the dead center position of the toggle, so that the jaws (1, 2) may bite by the application of a returning force to the pivotable shank from either of its thus swung-out positions.

Une clé anglaise avec une mâchoire supérieure en forme de crochet (1) est pourvue d'une mâchoire inférieure (2) réglable par rapport à la mâchoire supérieure et sur un coulisseau (3) pouvant glisser sur une partie de guidage (4) de la mâchoire supérieure (1). Des moyens de réglage (6) permettent au coulisseau d'être bloqué au moins contre un mouvement dans une direction le long de la partie de guidage. La mâchoire inférieure (2) peut être actionnée à l'aide d'un mécanisme à levier articulé ayant son levier libre couplé à la mâchoire inférieure et son autre liaison ayant la forme d'un bras plus court de levier, avec son pivot dans le coulisseau et son bras libre formant une tige pivotante (14), cette tige étant formée avec un passage (16) pour une partie (17) de la partie de guidage (4) et/ou une pièce (6, 18) reliée à la partie de guidage de sorte que la tige pivotante peut pivoter au-delà de cette partie ou de ces pièces suffisamment loin dans les deux directions depuis sa position intermédiaire, correspondant à la position centrale de repos du mécanisme d'articulation, de sorte que les mâchoires (1, 2) peuvent mordre par application d'une force de retour sur la tige pivotante depuis l'une ou l'autre de ses positions écartées de pivotement.
