Initiating system for an explosive device consisting essentially of a cylindrical charge of relay explosive (14) having a transient detonation regime and clamped between two cylindrical anvils (12, 13) of the same diameter as the relay charge (14), one of the two anvils comprising, over its entire length, a central axial channel of circular section (15) in which is housed a detonator (17) coming into contact with the relay charge (14), characterized in that : a) the anvils (12, 13) are made of a heavy metal or of composite material based on a resin filled with particles of a heavy metal, and b) the central axial channel (15) containing the detonator (17) ends in a spot-facing (16) on the face of the anvil (13) in contact with the relay charge (14).
