Coke oven door for a coke oven with horizontal chambers, comprising a door plug, serving also as heat protection, penetrating into the oven chamber and connected with the door body, by which plug the furnace charge is held at a certain distance from the door body, wherein the door body, during the carbonization or coking operation, is pressed by at least one locking device onto the door frame of the oven, wherein the door body consists of a force transmitting unit and a sealing unit, the sealing unit is held, for the purpose of tapping the oven, at at least one position in the force transmitting unit and the sealing unit possesses a sealing element which, in the closed position of the oven doors, is held by the force transmitting unit closingly against the door frame, characterized in that the sealing unit (2) carries the door plug and is held by the force transmitting unit (1) alone against the edge in the closed position.
