Es wird ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens angegeben, mit dem bzw. mit der ein Trennschalter (10, 80) in seiner Ausschaltstellung auf seiner Lastseite an Erdpotential gelegt wird, um eine Gefährdung einer an der abgetrennten Lastseite arbeitenden Person zu verhindern, wenn der Trennschalter geöffnet wird, und aufgrund einer Überspannung im Netzteil ein Überschlag über die geöffneten Kontaktstücke (28,30) dennoch erfolgt.
