A method is provided for fixing a metal suitcase frame to a suitcase or to a bottom part of a suitcase made of resistant plastic, in which method the open side of the bottom part of the suitcase or of the suitcase is aligned in respect of the metal frame, and in which the metal suitcase frame and the free closed edge of the bottom part of the suitcase or of the suitcase are then fitted inside one another to connect the suitcase frame and the bottom part of the suitcase or the suitcase in such a way that a cross-sectionally barb-shaped projection, which is constructed on the free edge of the bottom part of the suitcase or of the suitcase and extends essentially around the periphery engages in a correspondingly designed recess in the metallic suitcase frame and thus rests on the recess in a sealing manner. Furthermore, formed on the free edge of the suitcase is a thin elastic lip which projects outwards from said edge and rests in a sealing manner in the interior of the suitcase frame when the suitcase has been inserted into the suitcase frame. <IMAGE>

Es ist ein Verfahren zum Anbringen eines Metall-Kofferrahmens an einer Kofferschale bzw. einem Koffereunterteil aus widerstandsfähigem Kunststoff geschaffen; bei welchem die offene Seite des Kofferunterteils bzw. der Kofferschale bezüglich des Metallrahmens ausgerichtet wird und bei welchem dann zurVerbindung von Kofferrahmen und Kofferunterteil bzw. Kofferschale der Metall-Kofferrahmen und der freie, in sich geschlossene Rand des Kofferunterteils bzw. der Kofferschale so ineinandergeführt werden, daß ein an dem freien Rand des Kofferunterteils bzw. der Kofferschale ausgebildeter, im wesentlichen ringsherum verlaufender, im Schnitt widerhakenförmiger Ansatz in eine entsprechend ausgeführte Ausnehmung in der Metall-Kofferrahmen einrastet und dadurch abdichtend an der Ausnehmung anliegt. Ferner ist an dem freien Rand er Kofferschale eine von diesem Rand nach außen vorstehende dünne elastische Lippe ausgebildet, die nach dem Einbringen der Kofferschale in den Kofferrahmen abdichtend im Inneren des Kofferrahmens anliegt.
