Method of closing a container, particularly a deep-drawn aluminium foil dish (1) for a complete meal, which container comprises a bottom (2), a container wall or walls (4) extending from said bottom to a container rim (3), and at least one hollow partition web (5) which divides the container into compartments (8) and whose web walls (6) extend from the bottom (2) to a top web surface (7) lying approximately in the same plane as the container rim (3), together with a cover (9) which covers the open top of the container and preferably consists of aluminium foil, characterized in that a flat cover blanck (16) is laid in the container and is held fast on the container in that position, and that the cover blank (16) is thereupon formfittingly pressed with the top face (17) of the web or the upper part of the web to form a sealing channel (10).
