Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Stellen der Geschwindigkeit einer mit einem gasförmigen Druckmedium, insbesondere mit Druckluft betriebenen Antriebseinheit, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das gasförmige Druckmedium während eines Arbeitsvorganges zumindest zeitweise, vorzugsweise während des gesamten Arbeitsvorganges, pulsierend in die Antriebseinheit eingespeist und/oder abgelassen wird. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens, gekennzeichnet durch eine Antriebseinheit (1), die über eine Druckluftleitung (2) mit einem elektrisch betätigten Magnetventil (3) in Verbindung steht, das mit einem elektrischen Kabel (4) mit einer speicherprogrammierbaren Steuereinrichtung (5) verbunden ist.
