Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8403052A1] The developement of public amusing installations like the big dipper with passenger supports suspended to a closed track system has in practice created problems which were heretofore unsolvable because the pendular oscillations generated in the high speed curves due to the centrifugal force have resulted in dangerous breaking loads despite damping measures. In order to solve those problems, the present invention proposes to suspend the bearing bar (2) of the passenger support (1) to the frame of a displacement device (12) provided with transversal and longitudinal interconnected beams (16, 18) so that the bearing bar may oscillate; within the frame, there are hingedly arranged by groups the displacement and guiding rollers (5, 6) of the displacement device (4). The damping unit is provided between the bearing bar (2) and the displacement device frame (12). Thereby, the displacement and guiding wheels (5, 6) may be freely adjusted to the tracks (9, 10, 11) and the forces due to the damping, respectively to the action avoiding the pendular oscillation may be distributed between all the displacement and guiding wheels (5, 6).
