[origin: WO8400743A1] Lift comprising a cabin (8) guided by two rails (10) arranged facing each other and provided with right angle notches. The cabin is fitted with two gear wheels (11) which are in mesh with the toothing of the rails (10), and has also a braking device (14) and a motor (12) to actuate the gear wheels. The cabin (8) is guided by the rails (10) which preferably have a T-shaped cross-section transversally to the medial plane of the well defined by the longitudinal axes of the rails by means of guides (18) arranged on said cabin, and within said plane exclusively by the bilateral toothings. There is provided an emergency device allowing to manually displace the cabin upwardly or downwardly. The motor (12), the gears (13), the brakes (14) and optionally the regulator (20) are arranged together, preferably on the roof of the cabine, for control and setting purposes.
