[origin: US4594928A] An apparatus for rapidly changing a plurality of knives secured within a knife cylinder of a paper cutting or perforating machine includes a pressure generator for pressurizing a plurality of pressure cylinders which actuate a force transmission mechanism for bracing the knives securely within the knive cylinder. A pressure conduit system includes a device for admitting a pressure medium into the system and a device for bleeding the system. A biasing mechanism is provided to maintain pressure within the conduit system.
