[origin: US4529173A] A shielding device to reduce wind velocity, in particular for the deposition of drifting sand or snow, has several plane elements which may be erected next to each other at an approximate right angle to the oncoming direction of the wind. The height of the individual plane elements amounts to at least twice the width of their base, whereas their width decreases as the height increases.

Eine Schutzvorrichtung (10) zur Verringerung der Windgeschwindigkeit, insbesondere für die Sedimentation von Flugsand oder Schnee, weist mehrere, näherungsweise im rechten Winkel zur Anströmrichtung des Windes nebeneinander aufstellbare Flächenelemente (12,17,16) auf; die Höhe der einzelnen Flächenelemente beträgt mindestens das Zweifache ihrer Grundbreite, während ihre Breite mit zunehmender Höhe abnimmt.
