[origin: WO8400691A1] A linear peristaltic pump (11), and a disposable casette (100), particularly suitable for the infusion of parenteral fluids. The pump (11) includes a housing (18) having a power-driven shaft (33), a series of small eccentrically-mounted bearing assemblies (29), and a thin elastomeric membrane (40) engagable with the bearing members along a first band or linear zone of contact lying in the same plane as the axis of the shaft. The disposable casette (100) is removably supported by the housing and takes the form of a rigid, planar, perimetric frame (151) having an opening (150) across which is stretched a section of elastomeric tubing (112). Locators (157, 158) provided by the housing and frame orient the casette with the axis of the tubing (112) in the same plane as the first band of contact and the axis of the shaft, and a platen (43) provided by the housing engages the section of elastomeric tubing that bridges the opening (150) of the frame to urge that section into engagement with the opposite side of the membrane (40) along a second band or linear zone of contact.
