[origin: EP0116757A1] An apparatus 12 for the production of novel variegated dyed effects including space dyed effects of yarns 10 comprises at least one spray nozzle 20 connected to a source of dye liquor 22. A nozzle 20 is also connected to a source of compressed air switchable by means of solenoid valves 36, 38 to provide at least two air flow rates whereby to alter the rate of application of dye liquor to the yarn. A number of compartments or tanks containing dye liquor and respective nozzles may be supplied so that a wide variety of dyeing effects are available.
