Vacuum cleaner comprising a housing portion (1) which has an open receptacle (4) for a dust filter and dust collector (3) and which is adapted to be closed by an undetachably mounted and articulated cover (5) which is movable from a closed position to an opened position for the purpose of removing the collector, said cover (5) having at its end arched swivel arms (6) which are pivoted about a swivel axis (8) inside the housing portion (1), characterized in that the cover (5) is connected to the arched swivel arms (6) by means of a further swivel axis (9) and held in its normal position in respect of the swivel arms by a holding device (13, 14) which releases the cover (5) into the releasing position in response to the application of an appropriate load.
