1. An adjustable chair formed by two rigid frameworks that intersect and overlap, one of them (1) forming the front legs (5) and the back rest, and the other (2) the rear legs and a seating surface divided into two successive adjacent areas (13, 14) of which the first (13) is always situated in front of the second (14) and in front of the back rest and forms the seating surface in the "seat" position and the leg rest in the "reclining chair" position, and the second (14) forms the seating surface in the "reclining chair" position, characterized in that the second seating surface (14) comprises an elongated groove (17) that extends pratically along the whole of its length, that is traversed by a peg (7) carried by framework (1) that forms the back rest and the front legs and presents at least two recesses (19, 21), the first of which (19) is situated in the front portion of the groove (17) and receives the peg (7) when the seat is in the "chair" or "armchair" position, and the second (21) of which is situated in the rear portion of the groove (17) and receives the peg (7) when the seat is in the "reclining chair" position.

Ce siège est constitué par deux cadres rigides se croisant en s'imbriquant et en formant, l'un (1), les pieds avant et le dossier, et l'autre (2), les pieds arrière et une surface d'assise divisée en deux zones successives (13, 14) constituant, la première (13), la surface d'assise en position «siège» et le repose-jambes en position «chaise longue», et la deuxième (14) la surface d'assise en position «chaise longue». La deuxième surface d'assise (14) comporte une glissière allongée (17) s'étendant sensiblement sur toute sa longueur et constituant au moins deux logements (19, 21) coopérant soit l'un, soit l'autre avec un doigt (7) porté par le cadre (1) constituant le dossier et les pieds avant.
