Central locking system with a plurality of locks (1), the bolts (4) of which are each actuable by a respective drive (13) fed from an energy source, wherein on actuation of one arbritrarily selectable lock by means of a key, all other locks are bolted and/or unbolted together, characterized thereby, that an equipment (6,7), which is actuable by a key, for the displacement of the bolt (4) into the open and closed setting is provided for each lock (1), that the system is so constructed that from the rotation of a key introduced into a lock (1) before the displacement of the associated bolt (4), a control signal is derived for the starting of the drives (13) of all other locks (1) for their bolting or unbolting and that a release signal for the lock (1) actuated by the key is derived from the assumption of the bolted or unbolted setting of all other locks (1).
