[origin: EP0118058A2] Liquid or pasty wastes, for example spent pigment pastes, are pyrolysed by indirect heating. The pyrolysed products are fed to a steadying chamber in which the solid residues are collected and taken off. The pyrolysis products in the form of vapour and gas are taken off from the steadying chamber and, without cooling, burnt in a boiler installation.
